Who we are

comparestaking.com is operated by an individual based in Portugal. For any privacy question or request, contact us at YOUR-CONTACT-EMAIL@example.com. We are the data controller for the limited personal data described below.

The short version

comparestaking.com has no user accounts and no database of users. You can browse and use the comparison tool without giving us any personal information. We only process data in three narrow cases: basic security logs kept by our hosting provider, optional analytics that load only after you consent, and a small cookie that remembers your cookie choice.

What we collect and why

• Nothing to use the site. No sign-up, no personal details required.
• Server logs. Our hosting provider may automatically record technical data such as your IP address, browser type and the pages requested, to keep the site secure and running. Legal basis: our legitimate interest in security and reliability (GDPR Art. 6(1)(f)).
• Analytics (only with consent). If you click "Accept" on the cookie banner, we load Google Analytics 4, which sets cookies and collects pseudonymous usage data (pages viewed, approximate location, device/browser, a random identifier) with IP anonymisation enabled. Legal basis: your consent (GDPR Art. 6(1)(a)). If you decline, no analytics cookies are set.
• Cookie choice. We store your accept/decline decision in a first-party cookie so we don’t ask again on every visit.

Cookies

A cookie is a small text file stored by your browser. We use:

• Essential cookie — remembers your cookie consent choice and theme preference. Always active; the site needs it to respect your choices. No consent required for strictly necessary cookies.
• Analytics cookies (Google Analytics) — set only after you accept. They help us understand how many people visit and which pages are useful. You can withdraw consent at any time using the "Cookie settings" link in the footer.
• Third-party cookies on partner sites — when you click an affiliate "Get started" link and leave our site, the partner (e.g. an exchange) may set its own cookies under its own policy. We don’t control those.

You can also block or delete cookies in your browser settings, though essential cookies are needed for the site to remember your preferences.

Who we share data with

• Google (Analytics) — only if you consent. Google processes the data as described in its own privacy policy and may transfer it outside the EU under appropriate safeguards (e.g. Standard Contractual Clauses).
• Our hosting provider — processes server logs on our behalf.
• Affiliate partners — we link to them, but we do not send them your personal data; any data they collect after you click is governed by their policies.
• DeFiLlama — we fetch public yield data from DeFiLlama’s API on the server side. Your personal data is never sent to DeFiLlama.

We do not sell your personal data.

How long we keep data

Server logs are retained only as long as needed for security, then deleted or anonymised by our host. Analytics data is retained according to our Google Analytics settings. The cookie consent cookie expires after several months, after which we’ll ask again.

Your rights under the GDPR

If you are in the EU/EEA, you have the right to access, rectify, erase, restrict or object to the processing of your personal data, the right to data portability, and the right to withdraw consent at any time (this does not affect processing done before withdrawal). To exercise any of these, email YOUR-CONTACT-EMAIL@example.com.

You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Comissão Nacional de Proteção de Dados (CNPD), Portugal’s data protection authority, or with your local supervisory authority.

Children

comparestaking.com is not directed at anyone under 18 and we do not knowingly collect data from minors.
